Children of the Resurrection

I am well reminded of the temporal things in this mornings readings. In a dim mirror with eyes made from things of this first earth I ponder mysteries and know this truth: I AM NOT OF THIS WORLD.

1 Corinthians 13:12 ESV
[12] For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

I won't pretend to understand much. Like honestly. I do know that when sin entered the world it became as it was not originally intended.  Brokenness entered the place of perfection. Eden was changed with the sun of Adman and Eve.  And so the course of man's time spent on His 1st earth sails towards judgement and destruction for when sin is fully formed brings death. Only in Christ can we have life!

Luke 20:34-38 ESV
[34] And Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, [35] but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, [36] for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. [37] But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. [38] Now he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to him.”

And so with my life given to Christ, I am thankful for the brevity of this world and the mysteries outside our grasp, for it brings peace and wonder while I gaze with eyes towards the eternal prize. For this life is just the begining of the next. I have been reminded of this. A thing beauty for those that know light and sorrow for those in darkness. My heart aches with thoughts of sheep without a Shepard.

Hebrews 11:7 ESV
[7] By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

So with fear and trembling my faith is refined as doubt is burned away in a firey storm of agape love. For His love is as relentless and powerful as the howling winds and pounding rains.

I pray the storm surge would raise up and drown all those around me in a deluge of baptismal light. Much better the words come from my own lips than the lips of the Word of the Lord when he comes on that day of judgement. We know not the hour so each hour why not make ready? We have been given the warning of the childbirth to come on old pages and they come with instruction to teach.

Philippians 2:12-13 ESV
[12] Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, [13] for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
