It seems like yesterday we were fine: lesson on love and friendship

All relationships take work to keep it in shape and to take it to the hospital when it needs mending. But it is only successful when both halves want to keep it alive, even then it's a challenge to overcome. Hard to let love live when choices leave it bleeding out. Hard to let love live under oppression.

While a first aid kit of Christ's love (with time and growth) can heal it all, for love covers a multitude of sins, reconciliation is a choice and hard work. So is accepting the gift of forgiveness. The type of trouble some types of sin cause are great. Some are a significant enough to break the marriage covenant and some permit divorce. A rib removal while awake? Most unpleasant.

It is hard to witness and experience. I am, admittedly - glad for the lesson; through it the Lord's taught me much!

Most of all: a lesson on forgiveness and grace through Jesus.

Though sadly and not all will embrace that truth to its fullest potential.

"Father forgive them, they know not what they do"

Proverbs 13:20 – Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

1 Corinthians 15:33 – Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

Proverbs 27:17 – Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

Proverbs 22:24-25 – Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.

Psalm 1:1 – Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.

Proverbs 12:26 – The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

2 Corinthians 6:14 – Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

Proverbs 14:7 – Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.

Proverbs 17:17 – A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

James 4:4 – Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God
